Marsh Cudweed

Scientific Names: Gnaphalium uliginosum syn. Filaginella uliginosa
Family: Compositae

An annual related to Edelweiss which spreads by seed, but not a widespread problem weed. Preferring moist conditions, it is found on paths and cultivated ground where there is no competition form vigorous grasses. The leaves have a greyish look due to the covering of fine hairs.
The brownish flowers appear from July to September and it can reach a height of about 20 cm.
Hoe or hand pull before flowering, easily uprooted.
Weedkillers to use:-
Paraquat, Diquat by contact action.
A residual herbicide prevents germination.
